What We Offer: Theatre Information

MISSION STATEMENT

Topeka Civic Theatre & Academy has a two-fold purpose:

  1. to enrich the lives of people in Topeka and northeast Kansas by creating a broad range of programs and artistically excellent theatrical experiences for their education, engagement and entertainment;
  2. to nurture inspired and aspiring avocational theatre artists and support volunteers by providing positive and exciting opportunities for showcasing and developing performance, production and management skills.

DINNER THEATRE

TCTA is unique in the world of community theatre. You may choose to attend on a dinner night and enjoy a sumptuous meal before the show or you may attend on a non-dinner night. In both cases, our Theatre Club, managed by Eddie Shirron, will be open to provide bar service offering a wide selection of spirits, soft drinks and delightful desserts. The Club staff, including bartenders, wait staff and bussers, are at your service to make your dining experience simply sensational too!

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

TCTA maintains a policy of equal opportunity without regard for race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, marital or veteran status, disability or citizenship, as well as other classifications protected by applicable federal, state or local laws. We are committed to providing equal opportunities in employment and in the enjoyment of our programming. Our equal opportunity philosophy applies to all aspects of our programming including employment, volunteering onstage, backstage or in other capacities, participating in classes or workshops, and attending our productions.

House Rules

PLEASE - ARRIVE EARLY. Arriving early allows you time to enjoy your meal. The doors open at 6:00 PM and the buffet line opens at 6:30 PM on dinner nights. Arriving early for non-dinner tickets permits you to order refreshments from our Club. The Club takes pre-show and intermission orders for drinks and desserts up to ten minutes before curtain.

PLEASE - NO CELL PHONES, PAGERS AND OTHER ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT. Doctors on call are requested to leave these devices with your server, who will notify you in case of an emergency.

PLEASE - NO CAMERAS AND VIDEO EQUIPMENT. Copyright laws prohibit the practice of video or audio recording of our productions. Flash cameras distract performers and audience members alike.

PLEASE - NO SMOKING. Topeka Civic Theatre & Academy is a "smoke-free" environment. We appreciate your cooperation.

PLEASE -- LET US KNOW HOW TO SERVE YOU BETTER! Our audience is important to us. Thank you for joining us and enjoy the performance.
